Together, we explore touch as a tool and a method to activate and mobilize memories, thereby triggering empathy. This performative process seeks to investigate forms of intelligence and thought beyond brain-centered cognition. We examine what the human touch of another body can evoke in relation to our current state of mind and our embodied memories, patterns, and experiences. Our skin is our largest organ, equipped with thousands of receptors and imbued with innate intelligence. What does “closeness” mean in and of itself? Touching and sharing closeness raises new questions: Where is touch located, and how is it perceived? Where does one begin and end as an individual?
