In the age of noise, it feels rather urgent to find a balanced relationship with silence. Perhaps for calming anxiety, or for regaining focus, silence invites us to listen beyond what is audible. During this participatory performance lecture, I will offer the participants an opportunity to practice noticing the silence that continuously exists between us. Together we will tether our attention to the sounds that cannot be heard. We will listen to the ever-pervading soundlessness that can be found between each utterance, each noise. We will tune our ears to the sound of nothing as a practice to find joy and lightness in those things unheard.
